DevOps Engineer

About the Project:

Our partner is developing a leading digital experience platform that empowers publishers and brands to craft interactive content - such as polls, quizzes, surveys, and web stories - that enhances user engagement and drives monetization. Utilizing a no-code, drag-and-drop interface, the platform seamlessly integrates with existing marketing tools, enabling the collection of zero- and first-party data. This solution is trusted by major media and commerce organizations to deliver personalized, engaging experiences across various channels.

We are looking for a DevOps professional to join the project for a 3-4 month full-time engagement, with the potential for extension based on project needs.

Core Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) clusters and environments (prod/canary/dev)
• Own and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Docker, and GitOps tooling
• Maintain Fastly CDN configuration (routing, caching, headers, edge logic)
• Take full ownership of TLS/SSL certificate lifecycle across cloud load balancers, service meshes (e.g., Linkerd), and internal services
• Automate infrastructure via Terraform, reducing manual configuration
• Monitor system performance and health with Prometheus, Grafana, and Google Cloud Logging
• Resource optimization (e.g., reducing unnecessary pods, storage, legacy environments)

Tech Stack:

• Cloud: GCP (GKE, Cloud SQL, Artifact Registry, Load Balancer, KMS, Logging, BigQuery, Kubernetes)
• IaC & Automation: Terraform, GitHub Actions, Helm, cert-manager
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, Linkerd
• CDN & Edge: Fastly (VCL), DNS (Squarespace), SSL
• Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, Google Cloud Logging

Required Skills:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience Production with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes
• Strong experience with Terraform and CI/CD automation, ArgoCD
• Hands-on experience configuring Prometheus, Alertmanager
• Hands-on experience working with multi-language microservices
• Proven experience configuring and debugging CDN services (must)
• Working with Fastly - advantage
• Deep knowledge of TLS/SSL certificate management
• Experience with cert-manager (preferred) or ACME clients (certbot, lego, etc.)
• Capable of automating certificate issuance and renewal across services, clusters, and load balancers

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience automating certs within Linkerd or other service meshes
• Comfortable with cloud networking, IAM roles, internal/external DNS, and service accounts
• Proficient with monitoring and alerting systems using Prometheus and Grafana
• Strong scripting ability in Bash and use of gcloud CLI
