We are hiring at Wageloch and Easy Employer for a DevOps Manager to join our growing team in Adelaide or Melbourne!

This position focuses on optimizing our software delivery process, ensuring the stability and scalability of our systems, and fostering a collaborative culture between the software development teams!

Here is a little window into our company: Wageloch and Easy Employer are workforce management software providers in Australia that provide rostering time and attendance solutions to Australia and New Zealand. The team works closely in the office and from home to deliver great service to our clients. You will be responsible for joining the team and helping to promote a good safe healthy working environment and strong communication.

Wageloch and Easy Employer were acquired by Valsoft and now operated under the Aspire Software portfolio. Aspire Software, the operational arm of Valsoft Corp, operates and manages Valsoft's global portfolio of wholly owned software companies, providing mission-critical solutions across multiple verticals. By implementing industry best practices, Aspire delivers a time-sensitive integration process, and the operation of a decentralized model has allowed it to become a hub for creating rapid growth by reinvesting in its portfolio.

The successful candidate will work in a hybrid work model from our offices in Adelaide or Melbourne!

What your day will look like:

  • Manage teams that impact two businesses
  • Supervising between 15-20 employees
  • A client base of approximately 2600 clients, Australia-wide
  • Lead the collaboration and management of software ad operations teams
  • Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines while automating processes to improve the speed and reliability of deployments
  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure while ensuring high scalability and disaster recovery
  • Maintain sturdy monitoring and alert systems to ensure proactive detection of issues
  • Enforce security compliance and industry best practice
  • Manage vulnerability assessments and patching processes
  • Drive incident response, post-mortem analysis, and implement lessons learned to improve incident response times and systems reliability
  • Manage and deliver to budgets, including resource allocation, and ensuring tool investments align with business needs
  • Working across software development, Infrastructure, QA, and leadership team

About You:

  • At least 8+ years of Software engineering experience with at least 4+ years managing SAAS development teams, including developing talent
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum and Agile Methodologies/SCRUM Master
  • At least a Bachelor's or above in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture and design principles
  • Hands-on experience with desktop applications and modern web technologies
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms, particularly AWS
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and API integration
  • Knowledge of modern frontend and backend frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Node.js, etc.)
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge/Training in any of the following; Java, .NET, C#, PHP (Hack), SQL, MongoDB, RDS (MariaDB)
  • Cloud Platforms and infrastructure management - AWS, EC2, S3, Fargate
  • CICD pipelines and automation - Terraform
  • Containerisation and orchestration - Elastic beanstalk, Docker, Kubernetes (optional)
  • Version Control systems - Github, Gitlab
  • Database management - Microsoft SQL server, Mongo DB (Atlas), RDS (Maria DB)
  • Programming languages - vb.net, C#, React, Python, PHP (Hack)
  • Atlassian toolsets - Jira, Confluence
  • Methodologies - Agile and Scrum
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal, is essential
  • Legally authorized to work in Australia
