Senior Hardware/IoT Engineer

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Hardware/IoT Engineer to join our dynamic team in Qatar. In this role, you will play a critical part in deploying and configuring cutting-edge IoT solutions across various industries. You will be responsible for installation, integration, configuration, testing, and operationalizing of IoT hardware and firmware at client sites. This role demands hands-on experience and problem-solving capabilities in real-world industrial environments. Only candidates currently residing in Qatar or holding a valid Qatar residency permit will be considered.

You will collaborate closely with the engineering, product, operations, and customer teams to ensure smooth deployments and high-impact product performance.

• Oversee deployment and configuration of IoT sensors, gateways, and related edge devices.
• Validate hardware at customer sites ensuring it meets performance and compatibility requirements.
• Troubleshoot onsite issues and coordinate fixes swiftly to avoid downtime.

• Provide inputs on hardware design and architecture.
• Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to build use-case-specific solutions.
• Engage in R&D of new hardware and suggest improvements or replacements for better performance.

• Work closely with the customer success team to resolve technical issues during pre- and post-installation.
• Offer technical advice for customer documentation, manuals, and support training.

• Interface with sales for technical proposals, demos, and tender responses.
• Liaise with supply chain teams for vendor coordination, procurement, and inventory control.
• Document technical processes, best practices, and feedback for continuous improvement.

• Coordinate directly with suppliers for hardware sourcing, inquiries, and updates.
• Manage procurement schedules in alignment with project timelines and budget constraints.
• Track hardware orders and follow up on timely deliveries.

• Conduct continuous research on new and emerging IoT hardware.
• Evaluate performance, reliability, and integration capabilities through rigorous testing.
• Recommend suitable hardware based on cost, performance, and customer requirements.

• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and service agreements with hardware suppliers.
• Maintain a cost-effective and scalable hardware procurement strategy.
• Build strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability and timely support.

• Contribute to technical proposals involving IoT hardware specifications.
• Assist in documentation for tenders, RFPs, and internal decision-making processes.
• Align proposals with solution design and customer expectations.

• Participate in sprint planning, defect tracking (JIRA), and retrospectives.
• Share hardware-related insights that shape the product roadmap.

• Experience:
• Minimum 3 to 7 years of hands-on experience in IoT hardware installation, configuration, and R&D.
• Strong preference for candidates with experience in GCC regions or currently based in Qatar/India.
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical, or related technical field.
• Technical Skills:
• IoT protocols (MQTT, HTTP, CoAP), embedded development (C, C++, Python, Shell).
• Networking (LAN, WAN, WiFi) and containerization tools (Docker).
• Experience with Linux-based firmware development.
• Exposure to hardware interface standards and edge computing.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like JIRA and GIT.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Growth mindset with a willingness to learn and adapt quickly.
• Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
