DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join a financial services organisation. This position plays a key role in advancing engineering capabilities and fostering the adoption of an internal development platform. The role involves close collaboration with internal teams to streamline software delivery processes, elevate automation practices, and promote the adoption of scalable DevOps solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with software engineering teams to facilitate the transition to a standardized internal development environment, offering guidance on workflow optimization and deployment strategies.
• Serve as an advocate for engineering best practices, participating in an enablement function that supports consistency and maturity in DevOps approaches across multiple domains.
• Support integration efforts for DevOps tooling, helping teams establish reliable automation pipelines while also capturing insights for improving platform usability.
• Contribute to the development of modular pipeline templates and infrastructure automation libraries that support rapid implementation and scalability.
• Plan and deliver knowledge-sharing initiatives, including onboarding sessions, technical briefings, and hands-on training tailored to team-specific needs.
• Partner with stakeholders to assess existing workflows and recommend process enhancements that align with strategic objectives and engineering standards.

Qualifications:

• At least 6 years of hands-on experience in DevOps / Platform Engineering
• Bachelor's Degree
• Strong practical experience with version control systems and CI/CD platforms; proficiency in GitLab and related toolchains.
• Familiarity with cloud-native operations and GitOps methodologies, particularly in environments using Kubernetes platforms (e.g., OpenShift, AKS) and virtual machines.
• Scripting languages for automation: Bash / Python
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a broad audience.
• Experience with infrastructure orchestration tools, or with writing Kubernetes operators using Go is advantageous.
