Job Description

Our client in the automotive domain is currently looking for a partner to help them with Java development in our Cloud Native Transformation project.

More precisely, they are doing Spring upgrades (Spring 3 to Spring 4) and migrating our applications deployed on WebSphere Application Server to Spring Boot applications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Upgrade existing Java applications from Spring 3 to Spring 4.3;
• Refactor and convert legacy applications to Spring Boot;
• Ensure applications are deployable on WebSphere Application Server;
• Prepare and test Spring Boot applications for containerized deployment using Docker and Kubernetes;
• Provide application-level support during the deployment on Kubernetes (infrastructure handled by the client);
• Collaborate with the client's engineering and DevOps teams;
• Follow the client's base images and Dockerfile standards for containerization.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Strong experience with Java and Spring Framework (Spring 3.0 and 4.0);
• Proven experience in Spring Boot application development and deployment;
• Familiarity with WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and deployment processes;
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production or migration contexts;
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and CI/CD practices;
• Comfortable working with WAR/EAR packaging and legacy systems;
• Ability to troubleshoot and support containerized applications in Kubernetes.
