Senior frontend engineer

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Frontend Engineer to join Treebula, Sweden’s leading digital marketplace for forest owners. At Treebula, we leverage innovative technology to empower forest owners, providing them with tools to optimize land management, sell timber, and explore renewable energy opportunities.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing our platform’s user experience. You will collaborate closely with designers, backend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver a seamless, intuitive, and high-performing frontend. Your work will directly impact our mission to create a sustainable and carbon-neutral future while supporting thousands of forest owners.

What You’ll Do:

• Design and implement scalable, maintainable frontend architecture using React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate closely with designers to translate designs into polished, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
• Work with backend engineers to ensure smooth integration with our Django-based APIs.
• Develop responsive, accessible, and high-performing interfaces for forest owners and other users.
• Champion best practices in frontend development, including code quality, testing, and deployment processes.
• Contribute to planning and decision-making, helping shape the roadmap for our platform.

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of experience in frontend development with a strong focus on building scalable, user-friendly applications.
• Proven experience in building component libraries and working with CMS systems to deliver flexible, maintainable solutions.
• Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tools and libraries.
• Experience with responsive design and a keen eye for UI/UX details.
• A strong track record of working in agile teams, collaborating closely with cross-functional roles.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience working on map applications or integrating mapping tools like Mapbox or Leaflet
• Experience in building and maintaining UI component libraries using tools like Storybook or similar.
• Knowledge of Python and Django, with the ability to collaborate closely on backend features.
• Familiarity with AWS and DevOps tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and leveraging data-driven insights to optimize UX.
• Interest in forestry, sustainability, or Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
