Start Date: May 27, 2025
Location: Remote – US-based candidates only (PST preferred)
Pay Range: $55-75/Hour (DOE)
Brief Summary:
Russell Tobin & Associates is currently seeking a candidate with a strong foundation in free-to-play games. This is an exciting opportunity to help define the future of VR platforms by supporting developer-focused content and contributing to the growth of the gaming ecosystem.
We’re specifically looking for early-career professionals—those who have been junior game designers or junior product managers in the gaming industry, with clear exposure to free-to-play game models.
Responsibilities:
- Create compelling, research-backed content tailored to the developer community.
- Build narratives around developer growth insights, focused primarily on free-to-play games.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders and incorporate feedback from multiple teams.
- Publish content on the RL Developer Center and other platforms.
- Manage your own deliverables and timelines with minimal oversight.
Required Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience as a junior game designer or junior product manager in the free-to-play games space.
- Strong writing and storytelling ability with samples available upon request.
- Comfortable with editorial work that connects research to actionable insights for game developers.
- Business-minded—can understand and communicate how content improves developer and platform success.
- Highly collaborative, communicative, and self-directed.
Nice-to-Have:
- Published writing samples relevant to the games industry.
- Experience working in or with developer tools or game platforms.
- Understanding of subscription models or other game monetization strategies.
