Odoo developer

Twenty8 is seeking an experienced Odoo developer to support one of our key clients, a prominent European Union institution in supporting the development and maintenance of business-critical software applications. This role requires expertise in enterprise application development, with a specific focus on the Odoo platform, and the ability to work collaboratively within an agile, multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, customize, and integrate Odoo modules to meet business requirements.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and maintainable software components.
• Participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, and testing.
• Build reusable and efficient code with an emphasis on future scalability.
• Ensure the integrity, performance, and responsiveness of software applications.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
• Conduct system integration and support deployment configurations.
• Provide expertise on software security, particularly related to web applications and authentication protocols such as OAuth and OpenID Connect.

Competencies and Experience:

• Education: University degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in similar roles
• Proven professional experience in Odoo development (both backend and frontend).
• Proficiency in Python and relevant Odoo frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of web technologies: HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Bootstrap.
• Experience with web services (REST, SOAP) and database integration (Oracle RDBMS, SQL, PL/SQL).
• Familiarity with version control and DevOps tools: Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Sonar, JIRA, Confluence.
• Solid understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies (PM², Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
• Knowledge of UML and BPMN 2.0.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional international team.
• Commitment to best practices in software engineering and security.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certification in Odoo or related ERP systems.
• Oracle Certified Professional (Java or SQL).
• Experience with other development frameworks: Java (Spring, Hibernate) or PHP (Laravel, Symfony) or ColdFusion.

Work Setup:

This role is based in Belgium, with a hybrid arrangement requiring 3 days onsite. Remote work from other countries is not permitted.
