Back-end Engineer (Mid-Senior)

About The Role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer (Go) to join our Payments team, which plays a critical role in building and scaling our financial infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for writing well-structured, maintainable, and reliable code that directly impacts both sellers and buyers. You will be working closely with the product team to understand business value and proactively contribute to solving real-world problems. The code you write will follow design patterns, be thoroughly tested, and be aligned with modern software architecture principles like DDD, and Clean Architecture.

We currently use tools and technologies such as: Go (Golang), PHP (Symfony), MySQL, Redis, Kafka, Temporal, Docker, Kubernetes.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

• Develop and maintain backend systems in Go that directly contribute to the payments infrastructure;
• Help migrate sellers from legacy payment flows to the new infrastructure;
• Write clear, well-tested, and maintainable code with a focus on business-critical functionality;
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions;
• Support initiatives like self-payouts, refund automation, and GDPR compliance;
• Work with and support existing PHP (Symfony) codebase when necessary;
• Take ownership of features and problems from ideation to production and beyond.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Experience writing clean and efficient code in Go (or strong backend experience with PHP and an eagerness to learn Go quickly);
• Strong PHP fundamentals and experience working with the Symfony framework;
• Solid understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and design patterns;
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB);
• Experience with Temporal is nice to have but not necessary;
• Familiarity with DDD and Clean Architecture;
• Ability to understand business metrics (conversion rate, churn rate, etc.);
• Team player mindset, proactive attitude, and clear communication skills;
• Curiosity and willingness to learn.
  
  

SALARY

The offered salary range for this position is from 4000 € (gross) per month. Please keep in mind that we are also open to discuss your salary expectations based on your competencies and experience.
