A well-established Canadian fintech is hiring a Senior Data Scientist, AI to lead development of real-time AI/ML solutions that directly impact fraud prevention and payment optimization. This is a greenfield role where you'll own the engineering, design, architecture and deployment of AI/ML models that will improve and power financial transactions.

You'll design real-time AI solutions that drive measurable impact across national payment systems – this isn't just another data science role, it's a chance to shape how financial outcomes happen in the real world.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the design, deployment, and monitoring of AI/ML solutions to tackle fraud, risk, and transaction efficiency.
• Develop real-time models using enterprise-grade data tools and scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Apply techniques such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), LLMs, and statistical learning to solve complex challenges.
• Build user-friendly interfaces and dashboards to drive adoption across the business.
• Collaborate closely with data engineering, product, and risk teams.

What You Bring:

• 10+ years in data science, AI/ML, or software engineering.
• Strong industry experience in payments, fraud, or risk modeling – ideally within fintech, eCommerce, or banking.
• Proven track record deploying models into production environments and building real-time, high-volume AI systems and pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based AI tools (Azure AI ideal), modern data platforms, and real-time analytics pipelines.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with technical and business teams to drive value as well as translating complex technical solutions into business value.
