Data Analyst

• 6-month initial contract with possible extensions
• Mix of work from home and Central Sydney office.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and process large datasets from various sources for cloud cost analysis.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes within an AWS environment.
• Assist in the creation of governance frameworks, policies, and automated processes for cloud resource management and compliance.
• Collaborate with finance and business units to ensure tagging compliance and enhance cost transparency.
• Design interactive dashboards, reports and visualisations to communicate cloud insights effectively.
• Document cloud processes, guidelines, and policies, along with FinOps practices, to monitor, analyse, and optimise cloud costs

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in cloud governance, FinOps, or compliance roles, with a deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS).
• Proven ability to implement cloud governance frameworks and manage multi-cloud environments.
• Proficiency in scripting or automation tools to improve governance processes.
• At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, compliance, or related fields required to be able to ramp up quickly on the project
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases, ETL processes, and data pipeline development.
• Expertise in data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, R, or similar) for data analysis and automation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex findings.
