As an Agile Team Coach, you will guide and support a cross-functional team in delivering high-quality software solutions. Your primary responsibilities include facilitating Agile ceremonies, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment, and ensuring continuous improvement in processes and practices. You will act as a servant leader, removing impediments, coaching team members on agile concepts, and promoting Agile principles to achieve project goals efficiently. You will also be responsible for tracking and documenting that key release tasks are executed at the proper time, leading meetings where stake holders review release progress, and written communications regarding release schedule, scope, and status.

While you will not be providing technical leadership, you will be expected to gain an understanding of the secureWISE product line, including what it does and how it is configured, in order to effectively communicate with the team and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating Agile Events: Organize and facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Coaching the Team: Guide and mentor team members on Agile principles and practices, helping them to understand and adopt Agile methodologies effectively.
  • Promoting Continuous Improvement: Encourage the team to reflect on their processes and practices and to continuously seek ways to improve their performance and productivity and updates/documents development processes to help ensure repeatable results.
  • Ensuring Transparency: Maintain transparency in the team's progress and performance by providing clear and accurate information to stakeholders and ensuring that the team adheres to Agile practices.
  • Facilitating Communication and Collaboration: Foster open and effective communication within the team to promote a collaborative team environment where members work together towards common goals and support each other in achieving them.
  • Supporting Product Owner: Assist the Product Owner in managing the product backlog, ensuring that it is well-organized, prioritized, and understood by the team and prepares.
  • Monitoring and Communicating Progress: Track the team's progress and performance to identify areas for improvement and to ensure that the team is on track to meet its schedules and communicate to stakeholders the status of releases and upcoming release milestones, such as alpha and beta deployments, for which they must plan.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Agile Certification: One of the following Agile certifications is required: PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or something comparable.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience as an Agile Team Coach/Lead or Scrum Master.
  • JIRA Knowledge: Ability to fully leverage JIRA features such as customizable workflows, creation and management of sprints, using burndown charts and Kanban boards to visualize progress, and generating detailed reports and dashboards to provide insights into team performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly convey ideas, both in person and in writing, and facilitate discussions among team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage tasks, priorities, and timelines effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to help the team prioritize among competing alternatives and break down complex problems into manageable units.
  • Leadership: Servant leadership skills to guide the team without dictating, fostering a collaborative and self-organizing environment.
  • Coaching, Mentoring, and Facilitating: Skills to educate and support team members in understanding and implementing Agile principles and practices and expertise in facilitating Agile ceremonies and ensuring productive and focused meetings.
  • Conflict Resolution: Ability to manage and resolve conflicts within the team, promoting a harmonious working environment.

Prefered Skills

  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of any of the following: computer programming in general and Java programming specifically, relational databases, computer security concepts and methods, and at least passing familiarity with some remote access protocols such as FTP, SFTP, VNC, SSH, etc. - all of which can help in better communication with the development team and in resolving technical impediments.
  • Change Management: Skills in managing organizational change, helping teams and stakeholders adapt to new processes and practices.
  • Project Management Tools: Proficiency with various project management tools beyond JIRA, such as Trello, Asana, or Microsoft Project, to offer flexibility in managing different projects.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze data and metrics to provide insights into team performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Cultural Awareness: Understanding and appreciation of different cultures, which is especially valuable in our very diverse and distributed secureWISE development team.
  • Artificial Intelligence: Ability to identify, recommend, and use artificial intelligence tools to augment your agile management, project management, and communication skills.

Pay Range

CAD $88,000.00 - CAD $100,000.00 /Yr.
