Network Support Engineer (Mid/Senior) – Remote | Cisco & Palo Alto

We're looking for a Mid-level and a Senior network support engineer to join our growing remote team. You'll play a key role in managing and securing complex network infrastructures, working with technologies like Cisco and Palo Alto, and supporting cross-functional IT initiatives. Responsibilities:

• Manage IP address allocation and administration in line with the established IP address concept.
• Implement firewall rules on firewalls, currently using Palo Alto Networks.
• Configure and operate network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, client VPN, site-to-site VPN), including complex environments utilizing Cisco Systems and Palo Alto Networks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues of varying complexity.
• Monitor network performance and implement optimizations as necessary.
• Install patches, updates, and system upgrades to ensure security and functionality.
• Maintain and update network documentation regularly, following internal guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with IT Service Management (ITSM) practices using organizational tools and protocols.
• Provide expert consulting and coordination for IT teams and stakeholders on networking topics, including network design, restructuring, security, and expansion initiatives.

Requirements:

• Relevant experience in network administration (Mid or Senior level).
• Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with Cisco Systems and Palo Alto Networks hardware and tools.
• Strong understanding of LAN, WLAN, VPNs (client & site-to-site), and firewall implementation.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes and best practices.
• Experience in performance monitoring and tuning of network systems.
• Proficiency in documenting technical processes and maintaining up-to-date records.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• German language (B2+).
• Comfortable working in a remote environment.
