Technology Director

Eidra’s product and technology company, Umain, is growing in the Norwegian market. Now we’re seeking an experienced Tech Director to join our Oslo office.

Role

We're looking for a seasoned professional with a strong background in digital consultancies or agencies to spearhead our technological efforts in Norway. As a member of our Norwegian team, you'll play a crucial role to:

• Lead engineering for our largest accounts
• Contribute to our overall growth strategy
• Shape our technology offerings in the Norwegian and international market
• Support the establishment and growth of our technical capabilities
  
  

The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and experience in scaling teams within a consultancy environment. You’ll be instrumental in translating our international success to the Norwegian context, adapting our approaches to meet local market demands.

This role is based in Oslo, with a commitment of 3 days per week at Eidra’s office. It’s an opportunity to leverage your consultancy experience to build something new, drive innovation, and make a lasting impact in a dynamic, growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership and Innovation:
• Provide technical vision and direction for Eidra Norway’s projects and initiatives
• Stay at the forefront of technology trends, ensuring our offerings remain competitive in the market
• Mentor and guide project teams, fostering a culture of engineering excellence within Eidra’s Norway presence
• Client Engagement and Business Development:
• Lead engineering efforts for our largest accounts, representing Eidra’s technical expertise
• Provide expert technical leadership and strategic counsel to key clients. Partner with C-suite executives to align technology with business goals, oversee the delivery of technical solutions, and foster strong client relationships.
• Participate in sales pitches and proposals, articulating Eidra’s technical capabilities and the technical POV that will gain the prospective client’s trust in our capabilities
• Identify and pursue growth opportunities for Eidra in the Norwegian and international market
• Solution Architecture and Delivery:
• Design and oversee the implementation of scalable, maintainable, and innovative technical solutions aligned with Eidra’s product philosophy
• Ensure solutions meet clients' functional and non-functional requirements, including sustainability, security, and accessibility
• Monitor project progress and quality, resolving technical challenges as they arise
• Team Building and Capability Development:
• Play a key role in building out Eidra’s technical capabilities within the Norwegian market
• Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team that embodies Eidra’s values
• Establish best practices and methodologies tailored to the Norwegian market while maintaining alignment with Eidra’s global standards
• Cross-functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with design, strategy, and business teams across Eidra companies to deliver integrated solutions
• Collaborate with Eidra’s global tech leadership to align Norwegian operations with company-wide initiatives
• Contribute to Umain’s overall strategy for the Norwegian market
  

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in technology leadership roles, preferably in product development or digital consultancy environments
• Proven track record of leading large-scale, complex technical projects for enterprise clients
• Strong understanding of various technology stacks and their business applications, particularly in web, mobile and back-end systems. AI experience is a plus.
• Experience as a developer, ideally on web and/or mobile applications
• Experience in building and scaling technical teams in a growth environment
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-solving
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred
