Network Engineer

🚨 We're Hiring: MPLS Engineer – Oman 🇴🇲 | 12-Month Contract (Extendable) 🚨

We are looking for a skilled MPLS Engineer to support a major telecom infrastructure project in Oman. This is a 12-month extendable contract with a chance to work on large-scale MPLS network deployments.

🔧 Role Overview:

As an MPLS Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, configuration, implementation, and maintenance of multi-vendor IP/MPLS networks. You’ll work closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure high availability, performance, and security of the telecom backbone infrastructure.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, test, and deploy Nokia MPLS devices including VSR, SAR-Ax, SAR-8, SAS-Sx
• Provide basic support and understanding of Nokia Microwave (MW) technologies
• Maintain and troubleshoot Cisco Switches in Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environments
• Configure and monitor Fortinet Firewalls to ensure secure connectivity and policy enforcement
• Perform network performance tuning and monitor link utilization using standard tools
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to BGP, OSPF, LDP, RSVP, and MPLS-TE protocols
• Participate in network expansion, migrations, and upgrades
• Create detailed documentation for configuration changes, network diagrams, and standard procedures
• Provide L2/L3 operational support and work with NOC and vendor support teams for escalations
• Ensure 24x7 network uptime by responding to and resolving high-priority incidents efficiently

🎯 Required Skills & Experience:

• Hands-on experience with Nokia MPLS platforms (VSR, SAR-Ax, SAR-8, SAS-Sx)
• Familiarity with Nokia Microwave (MW) – basic knowledge acceptable
• Strong working knowledge of Cisco switching technologies
• Practical experience configuring and managing Fortinet Firewalls
• Solid understanding of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex routing and connectivity issues across MPLS backbones
• Experience working in telecom environments or large enterprise networks preferred
