Job Description:

Job Title: Backend Engineer

Duration: 12+ Months (With further Extension or Conversion)

Location: San Francisco, CA (Remote)

Payrate: $75 - 80/ Hour (Depends on Experience)

Description:

• As a Backend Engineer on our Tech team, you’ll be a key contributor in shaping and building experiences for company for Hosts, which ensures hosts receive best-in-class support when their bookings don’t go as planned.
  
  

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product, Operations, and Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products
• Build efficient and reusable backend components and architect reliable, performant, and scalable solutions
• Identify areas of improvement and drive best practices
  
  

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience
• Proficiency in one or more backend languages and frameworks, particularly Kotlin and/or Java
• Strong understanding of microservices and Kubernetes with experience working on APIs and end-to-end development from developing to testing
• Exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale system/product, such as well-designed APIs, high volume data pipelines, distributed systems, and efficient algorithms
• Willingness to work across the backend stack to address technical challenges anywhere in the system
• Excellent communication skills and an enthusiasm to participate in team meetings, working sessions, and code reviews
• US time zone needed, open to all locations
