As a Product Manager on the Canada Product team, you will be responsible for Beverage leadership across the Espresso and Coffee categories by supporting portfolio strategy, innovation pipeline and execution of category plans across our promo seasons. Partnering with the group manager, you will drive thought leadership through data analysis that supports strategic and tactical elements of the business. Our objective is to continue to create relevant product experiences to the Canadian customer, executing our Canadian beverage strategy to deliver our strategic growth plans.

As a Product Manager on the Canada Product team, you will be responsible for Beverage leadership across the Espresso and Coffee categories by supporting portfolio strategy, innovation pipeline and execution of category plans across our promo seasons. Partnering with the group manager, you will drive thought leadership through data analysis that supports strategic and tactical elements of the business. Our objective is to continue to create relevant product experiences to the Canadian customer, executing our Canadian beverage strategy to deliver our strategic growth plans.
As a Product Manager, you will lead in four key areas:
- Analysis & Strategy:
- You will analyze results across multiple KPIs for your portfolio to understand short- and long-term performance trends, developing insights and forming recommended actions
- You will identify areas where additional customer insights are needed, forming recommendations on how to proceed in partnership with Canada Product leadership team and Canada Strategy, Analytics & Insights team, supporting as needed
- You will synthesize relevant insights and strong understanding of customer & market dynamics to develop strategies & tactics for your category portfolio and for various Starbucks seasonal promos
- You will lead annual Canada product portfolio reviews and business planning for your categories along with contributing your perspective on category roles and strategies
- You will serve as the primary Canada point of contact and subject matter expert for your portfolio, supporting cross-functional teams with insights, consultation and problem solving as needed
- Product Innovation & Assortment Management:
- You will assess relative opportunities for Canada by closely collaborating with U.S. Beverage, Portfolio Management and Research & Development teams, learning about upcoming development projects and forming a perspective for our market
- You will proactively identify opportunities for the Canada Beverage portfolio based on your expertise in customer & market trends as well as potential gaps in pipeline
- You will support project management inputs and inform key stakeholders to assess, develop, scale up and launch beverages (including both U.S. led and Canada unique projects)
- You will proactively make recommendations on cost optimizations and operational efficiencies by managing the assortment of components & finished beverages within your portfolio
- Product Forecasting:
- You will thoughtfully incorporate relevant factors including consultation with key cross-functional stakeholders to develop sales forecasts for new and returning beverages
- You will collaborate with the Canada Finance team to build portfolio trends and expected performance into quarterly financial forecasts, including annual financial plans
- You will collaborate with Planning teams to ensure appropriate factors are built into demand, supply and replenishment plans for all company operated and licensed stores across Canada for your beverage portfolio
- Go To Market Excellence:
- You will lead recommendations for Canada product priorities across various seasonal promos, synthesizing relevant insights and consulting cross-functional teams to find solutions that maximize customer appeal and business performance while enabling a positive store partner experience
- You will consult with Canada Marketing team and support with insights and product expertise to enable strong agency briefs, product marketing campaigns and channel marketing tactics
- You will rapidly respond to performance and feedback from retail stores, solving problems and unlocking opportunities to deliver excellence
- Progressive experience in product or brand management (3 years)
- Experience working within a global organization and localizing for the Canadian market preferred
- Experience in a role leading the development of new or existing products or strategies from concept to implementation
- Self-starter with the ability to solve complex problems independently in most situations
- Strong project leadership & management skills; organized, high attention to detail, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines (5 years)
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills. Ability to leverage strong communication and stakeholder management skills to influence outcomes with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Strong collaborator able to work cross-functionally within Product and Marketing as well as other functions in a remote environment
- Working knowledge and experience preferred in financial planning, forecasting, assortment planning and inventory management
- Naturally builds trust and respect amongst peer group; has experience working in a highly matrix environment and is a strong team player who recognizes the importance of solid relationships
- Demonstrated agility to respond to and prioritize changing demands effectively
- Ability to function effectively with ambiguity
- Acts like an owner, demonstrating accountability and a growth mindset of continuous learning
