Network Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Continuously monitor network performance, ensuring the network is running at optimal speeds and availability. Utilize monitoring tools to proactively detect network issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, including hardware failures, connectivity issues, or slow performance, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
• Configure and maintain networking equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Apply firmware and software updates as needed.
• Diagnose and resolve network faults related to performance, connectivity, and configuration using diagnostic tools and methodologies.
• Monitor network security to prevent unauthorized access or potential threats. Implement security measures such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.
• Identify areas for network performance improvement and provide solutions to optimize speed, capacity, and reliability.
• Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, topologies, and incident reports. Ensure that all network designs and configurations are properly documented.
• Provide technical support to internal teams (IT, security, infrastructure) and assist with network-related questions, issues, and solutions.
• Assist in planning and scaling the network infrastructure to meet organizational growth, including recommending hardware and software upgrades when necessary.
• Assist in the implementation and testing of disaster recovery plans for network infrastructure.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors for troubleshooting, procurement, and support services related to networking equipment.

Requirements:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher preferred.
• CompTIA Network+ or equivalent network certifications are a plus.
• 2-4 years of experience in network administration, operations, or support.
• Hands-on experience with network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices.
• Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, BGP, and OSPF.
• Experience in a similar role supporting large-scale network infrastructures.
• Strong understanding of network design, implementation, and troubleshooting for both LAN and WAN environments.
• Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, or Wireshark.
• Knowledge of network security best practices, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving network issues in a timely manner.
• Strong communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Ability to create detailed and accurate network documentation.
