Job Description

You will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the Sonar (Customer Portal) application suite. This is a full stack, hands-on role that will be developing new features for our customers which meet the needs of our business. As a senior software engineer, your role will involve building with best practices and resiliency in mind, adhering to agile processes and dealing with business and technology stakeholders.


Impact you will make in this role: You will be responsible for solutioning, developing, deploying and supporting our Operational Support System platforms. Our customers rely on our products to connect, communicate and do business across Australia, NZ and Singapore.


After hours support: There is an expectation that this role is part of the teams after hours support roster (level 3). We also understand that as a business we need to do everything we can to ensure our platforms are resilient and self-healing and engineering leadership will provide the time to make sure we do.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience in a relevant field
  • Must have strong backend: Java 8+, Spring Framework, Tomcat, Hibernate, REST, Kafka
  • Must have relational database experience, such as MySQL or PostgreSQL
  • Experience designing and implementing microservices and highly scalable APIs
  • Experience supporting and monitoring live production applications
  • Desirable: Experience with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes
  • Desirable: Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or Ansible
  • Desirable: Experience with CI/CD tools like Gitlab
  • Desirable: Some experience with React JS / Golang
