Senior Java integration developer

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide mentorship to developers, enforce coding standards agreed transversally with other DPRO teams, and drive best practices.

· Lead activities related to the design and architecture.

· Write high-quality code implementing efficient system design and adhere to architectural principles.

· Write, review, and/or approve technical documentation to ensure it meets the project's technical and functional requirements.

· Monitor and ensure that developments adhere to the development processes.

· Ensure that the team's activities are estimated, recorded, and logged, and provide the necessary information for prioritization of tasks.

· Regularly report risks, issues, and status to management.

· Keep up-to-date dashboards and reports on the activities of the team.

· Ensure all deliverables comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

· Collaborate closely with developers, testers, project managers, and scrum masters in an agile manner to ensure successful project delivery.

· Identify and mitigate any risks associated with the software development and integration process.

Technical Competencies:

· Proficiency in Java for being able to assess and review backend and frontend applications

· Proven experience with API standards (REST, Webservice) and OpenAPI.

· Proficiency in understanding Apache Kafka for building real-time data pipelines and streaming applications.

· Expertise in setting up and managing Jenkins pipelines for automated testing, integration, and deployment.

· Experience using Maven to manage Java project dependencies and automate the build process.

· Experience with Elastic Search, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB databases.

· Experience with React and Node.js for building user interfaces.

· Proficiency in using Git for version control, including branching, merging, and managing pull requests.

· Familiarity with Azure and their services for deploying and managing applications.

· Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps, including securing CI/CD pipelines, managing secrets, and ensuring compliance.

Language Proficiency:

· Mastery of the English language is essential, as it is the working language of the project. Candidates must be proficient users at level C1/C2 as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

· Knowledge of French, the second official language of the Agency, is an asset.

Qualifications:

· Master’s degree in computer science.

· A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar function.

· Experience with the application of modern software development methodologies and standards in large-scale software systems.

· Experience with system and software architectures.

· Experience in managing teams.

· Understanding of Agile processes and principles (e.g. Scrum, SaFe)

· Experience in implementing DevOps principles within an organisation
