We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Technology and Operations Department to lead and manage the technology and operations of Bison Bank.

The ideal candidate will have a blend of strategic vision, technical expertise, and strong leadership skills, guiding the IT department to effectively support business goals, ensure the security and scalability of IT systems and oversee the operational support for the Bank’s core transactions, through the following key responsibilities.

• Systems Administration – Oversee the Bank’s IT infrastructure, ensuring system operability, maintenance, and evolution in line with the defined architecture.
• Communications & Security Management – Manage voice and data networks, ensuring high availability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Database Management – Maintain central databases, ensuring system performance, data quality, and integrity.
• Functional Analysis – Translate business needs into technical specifications for new applications and system enhancements.
• Application Development – Design, develop, and maintain applications aligned with business models, ensuring quality, security, and innovation.
• Information Systems Architecture – Develop and update IT infrastructure and application frameworks in line with the strategic plan.
• End-User Support – Provide technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high service levels for system users.
• Project Management – Lead or support regulatory, structural, and efficiency-driven IT projects, optimizing resource utilization.
• Stakeholder & Vendor Management – Maintain relationships with internal teams and external vendors, ensuring service quality, financial control, and alignment with business goals.
• Continuous Process Improvement – Foster a culture of efficiency by identifying process enhancements and eliminating inefficiencies.
• Outsourcing Service Control – Oversee IT services provided by third-party vendors, ensuring compliance with quality, availability, and financial agreements.
• Operational Control - Ensure regulatory reporting, account reconciliation, asset safeguarding, risk management, and internal record-keeping.
• Client & External Relations - Manage legal requests, account blocking, customer transactions, and asset segregation.
• Settlements - Execute and record securities transactions, market operations, and fund settlements.
• Transfers & Payments - Process and reconcile transfers, clearing accounts, and correspondent banking transactions.

Professional experience:

• 5 to 15 years of experience as an IT manager or IT director, overseeing teams, budgets, and strategic planning.
• Previous experience in managing operations will be valued.
• Previous experience in Banking sector will be valued, as will offer insights into unique regulatory requirements and technology needs.
• Certifications such as ITIL, PMP, COBIT, CISM, CISSP, Infrastructure and Cloud Computing, Governance and Compliance, IT Processes, Big Data, Software Development and Devops or any other relevant technical certifications would be a plus.

Preferred Academic Background:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• If not included in these related fields, at least solid background in various technical positions providing the foundational knowledge necessary to understand complex IT systems, In-depth experience with IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity, cloud computing, databases, and emerging technologies.
• Prior involvement in leading or managing significant IT projects, including large-scale system implementations or enterprise-level software solutions.
