Back End Developer

Description

We currently have a vacancy for a Back-end Developer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Your tasks

• Development of back-end website applications;
• Integration of user-facing elements developed by a front-end developers with server side logic;
• Creation of servers and databases for functionality;
• Design and implementation of data storage solutions;
• Understanding and implementation of security and data protection;
• Design and develop APIs;
• Participating in the design and creation of scalable software;
• Compile and analyse data, processes, and codes to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement;
• Testing and fixing bugs or other coding issues.

Requirements

• University degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with minimum 17 years of relevant working experience in IT;
• Deep understanding of Java, including OOP concepts, generics, collections, concurrency, etc.;
• Experience with Spring, especially Spring Boot, for creating RESTful services, dependency injection, security, data access;
• Experience with build tools and dependency management (e.g., Maven);
• Experience with designing and developing RESTful APIs and understanding of API design principles (e.g., REST, GraphQL);
• Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate, JPA) for data persistence;
• Proficiency in testing tools and frameworks like JUnit, Mockito, and Spring Test for unit and integration testing;
• Proficiency in related areas, such as devops, networking, and cloud-related skills like docker, and cloud deployments;
• Proficiency in Angular (at least v17) concepts such as modules, standalone components, services, routing, forms, and reactive programming with RxJS / Signals would be an asset;
• Proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3 for structuring and styling web pages would be an asset;
• Knowledge of testing frameworks and libraries like Jest and Cypress / Playwright for unit and end-to-end testing would be an asset;
• Familiarity with responsive design and frameworks like Material would be an asset;
• Familiarity with Angular CLI for project generation, development, scaffolding, and building would be an asset;
• Understanding of TypeScript would be an asset;
• Excellent command of the English language, French would be an asset.
