The Role

Driva is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join the Automation Team and lead the development of our cutting-edge product. As a senior member of our world-class product and engineering team, you will take ownership of complex projects, guide technical direction, and mentor team members. You will be responsible for automating new and existing processes to streamline efficiency within the company. Your expertise in automation will ensure scalability, performance, and technical excellence while delivering an outstanding user experience for our growing customer base.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a technical leader and role model, fostering collaboration, mentorship, and a positive team culture.
• Lead the design and development of scalable, distributed systems and ensure high-quality, production-ready code.
• Drive architectural discussions and contribute to technical thought leadership to align systems with business goals.
• Conduct comprehensive code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Advocate for and implement security best practices, contributing to Driva’s security-first mindset.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and proactively drive solutions to enhance system performance and stability.
• Use operational data and insights to advocate for performance improvements and drive monitoring efforts.
• Break down work into manageable units for incremental delivery, prioritising tasks and managing dependencies.
• Provide mentorship and constructive feedback to engineers, supporting their professional development.

Skills and Experience

• Experience as a Senior Engineer, including leading the development of complex systems.
• Expert understanding of software development lifecycles, best practices, and architectural principles.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, or Java).
• Deep expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerisation technologies (Docker), and serverless architecture.
• Strong proficiency in database design and optimisation (SQL and NoSQL).
• Demonstrated ability to write testable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring practices.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make responsible decisions in ambiguous situations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven track record of mentoring junior engineers and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React or other modern front-end frameworks.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress.
• Understanding of economic trade-offs in technical decisions and resource allocation.
• Hands-on experience in building highly secure systems and implementing best practices in cybersecurity.
