Android Developer

Rate: £550 per day (Outside IR35)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and deploy Android applications in secure environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Identify and fix bugs, ensuring the security and stability of the applications.
• Work with APIs, third-party libraries, and frameworks.
• Maintain and improve code quality through best practices, including code reviews and unit testing.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and Android development best practices.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience in Android development using Kotlin and/or Java.
• Strong understanding of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and Jetpack components.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, or other web services.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and experience working in secure environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Espresso, JUnit, or Mockito.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience working with government, defense, or highly regulated sectors.
• Knowledge of mobile security protocols and encryption methods.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and automation tools.
• Exposure to cross-platform frameworks like Flutter or React Native.
