Senior Backend Engineer @ GoWit

As a Senior Backend Engineer at GoWit, you will design and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services powering our adtech platform. You will work on real-time data processing, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures, ensuring our systems handle high-throughput workloads efficiently.

This is a hands-on technical role where you will architect solutions, optimize performance, mentor engineers, and drive innovation in the backend ecosystem. Your work will directly impact programmatic advertising solutions, enabling businesses to maximize their ad performance and efficiency.Your Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services using Go (Golang), ensuring low-latency, high-throughput processing.
• Architect scalable and event-driven systems, leveraging Kafka, Debezium, and real-time data pipelines.
• Work with ScyllaDB, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and Redis to manage high-volume data efficiently.
• Implement ETL processes and optimize data pipelines for analytics and reporting.
• Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and security, implementing data protection measures.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and enforce best practices.
• Troubleshoot and debug performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
• Collaborate closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to design and implement new features.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging backend technologies and contribute to GoWit's technical strategy.

Your Qualifications

• 4+ years of backend development experience, designing and delivering scalable, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Go (Golang) is strongly preferred. Experience with Python or Rust is a plus.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, ScyllaDB, ClickHouse, and Redis.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architectures and experience with Kafka and Debezium.
• Familiarity with ETL tools and data processing frameworks.
• Hands-on experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Deep understanding of high-throughput, low-latency systems and performance optimization.
• Experience working with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written & spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of modern CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform).
• Familiarity with distributed caching, message queues, and stream processing.
• Prior experience in adtech, e-commerce, or high-throughput transactional systems.
