Cyber Security Engineer

The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join a leading organisation and play a key role in securing critical systems. If you have a strong technical background in firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, penetration testing, and risk management, this could be your next career move! This is for an initial 3 month contract with possible extension.

- Initial 3 month contract
- In-depth knowledge of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and malicious code detection
- Hands-on experience with penetration testing and vulnerability management

The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Cyber Security Engineer to join a leading organisation and play a key role in securing critical systems. If you have a strong technical background in firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, penetration testing, and risk management, this could be your next career move! This is for an initial 3 month contract with possible extension.
Responsibilities Include
- Ensure security service delivery aligns with contractual KPIs and industry best practices.
- Identify, measure, and report on security metrics to ensure operational efficiency.
- Manage stakeholders, including hospital employees, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts, security risk assessments, and system optimizations.
- Implement and maintain security controls across ICT infrastructure.
- Support security governance, compliance, and risk management activities.
- Conduct security audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments.
- Perform incident response, threat detection, and proactive security monitoring.
- Strong knowledge of firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, and malware detection.
- Experience with security frameworks (e.g., ASD Essential 8, ISO 27001, NIST).
- Understanding of patch management, vulnerability mitigation, and risk assessments.
- Hands-on experience in security operations, including penetration testing and incident response.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
- Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Security certifications (CCNP Security, CCIE Security, CISSP, CISM, or equivalent).
- Experience in healthcare or critical infrastructure security is an advantage.
