Job Description

We’re on the lookout for a passionate, self-starting Software Engineer to join our dynamic and close-knit engineering team. If you love solving complex problems, enjoy autonomy, and have a keen interest in both technology and the financial markets, then this role could be your perfect next (or career-defining) step.

In this role, you’ll:

Be building products and features that empower Australian investors to track the market, find investment opportunities, and make smarter investment decisions.

• Build for Scale: Develop and evolve a platform that currently serves over 1 million users, ensuring high performance, scalability, and a beautiful user experience.
• Collaborate & Innovate: Work directly with our CTO and a talented team of engineers to shape the architecture and design of our systems. Your input will help define the technical direction for years to come.
• Problem Solve: Tackle challenging issues like scaling, performance optimization, and complex integrations (e.g., building analytics dashboards, advanced search functionalities, and A/B testing frameworks).
• Own Your Craft: Choose the right tools and technologies for the job, contribute to technical decisions, and drive innovation within a small, agile team.
• Be a Team Player: Work in a collaborative environment where your opinions are heard, and every team member is valued.
  
  

Ideally, you will:

• Have 3+ years experience: You’ve spent at least 3 years working as a mid-level or senior software engineer (or tech lead) in an agile environment. Experience in startups, financial media, or data-driven roles is a bonus.
• Proficient in JavaScript​: Must have solid experience with at least one major JavaScript framework (Vue.js, React, or AngularJS), with experience in Vue.js and TypeScript being beneficial.
• Passionate about the stock market / investing: You’ll be building products and features for our users, and they’re all investors.
• Value Autonomy: You’re a self-starter who appreciates the freedom to choose your tools and approaches while aligning with the company’s vision.
• Bonus points if you have familiarity with AWS, PHP (Laravel), and Ruby on Rails is a plus.
