Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic, intelligent and commercial individual to provide world class data analysis and collaborate strongly with our strategists and consultants. The Data Analyst must demonstrate an understanding in retail or consumer insights data analysis which they can combine to enhance and underpin the work that WGSN delivers. The successful candidate will work with our stakeholders to analyse data and aid in the generation of breakthrough insight for our clients. The work is focused on the Sports and Outdoors market, and experience or interest in the industry is a strong advantage.

Key Accountabilities
- Provide high quality and accurate analysis for WGSN‘s clients, based on an understanding of one or more of the following categories that WGSN covers:
- Consumer insights, key trends and drivers
- Sports and Outdoors
- Fashion
- Tackle the challenge of extracting business intelligence from large data sets. Ability to see beyond the numbers
- Ability to effectively present and synthesize actionable insights that respond to industry’s needs and business questions through effective data storytelling
- Conduct primary and secondary research across a variety of quant data sets and deliver analysis that provides actionable recommendations that will benefit the client's future business
- Proactively suggest ways to visualise complex data sets, generating charts/tables that give insightful views of key business issues and opportunities
- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders in the business and data teams in region and across territories to ensure consistency of data analysis across the company
- Is confident to take an active and vocal role in team meetings, putting forward new ideas and suggestions for data integration
- Responsibility for projects being delivered in brief, in a relevant, insightful and commercially successful manner with data integrity at the core
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required
- Solid proven experience in a data analyst role
- Experience in Retail, Ecommerce, Digital Marketing or Sports and Outdoors is strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills, including excellent data storytelling skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills comfortable to tackle work within a global team
- A person that gets things done and a problem solver
- An analytical mind, with the ability to distinguish between what is important and what is not, making the complex simple
- Technical Experience with:
- Data Warehouses (one or multiple): Snowflake, SQL, BigQuery, etc
- Languages (one or multiple): SQL (must), Python/R (beneficial)
- Visualisation (one or multiple): Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc
- Beneficial to have experience with:
- Sprint Planning/Development using JIRA
