Project Overview

This role involves establishing multi-energy scenarios through interactions with experts and public workshops, culminating in a public consultation. The Data Analyst will assist in creating scenarios, engaging with stakeholders, and performing various tasks within the SMA (Scenario, Market & Adequacy) team.

Key Skills

• Energy Sector Knowledge: Understanding of the energy market and awareness of the latest developments and trends within Belgium and abroad.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Ability to collect, understand, and prepare inputs for scenario creation.
• Visualization: Proficiency in visualizing scenario assumptions and presenting them to stakeholders.
• Documentation: Experience in preparing documents (Excel, Word) for public consultation and taking minutes during workshops.
• Feedback Collection: Ability to collect feedback from experts and respond to comments during public consultations.
• MS Office Proficiency: Good knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Graph Creation: Ability to create graphs that make complex data easy to understand.
• Programming Knowledge: Knowledge of Python/R/economic dispatch tools/VBA/data handling is a plus.
• Organization and Attention to Detail: Well-organized with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive: Proactive attitude towards work.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Scenario Creation: Assist in creating multi-energy scenarios through collaboration with experts and public workshops.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, including other transmission system operators (Fluxys, DSO’s), and participate in the intensive stakeholder interaction process.
• Data Collection and Preparation: Collect, understand, and prepare inputs for scenario creation, including NECP, latest trends, development plans of other major players, and decarbonization plans of the industry.
• Visualization and Presentation: Visualize scenario assumptions and present them to stakeholders through workshops.
• Documentation and Minutes: Prepare documents for public consultation and take minutes during workshops.
