AI/ML Data Engineer

We are seeking a technically proficient, creative, and detail-oriented AI Data Engineer with thousands of structured and unstructured datasets being used daily in the company investment strategies, this role is crucial in helping portfolio managers find a competitive advantage.

You will work alongside data scientists and alt data SMEs to build advanced enrichment systems for the company’s alternative datasets, drawing upon your passion of AI/ML to create high capacity, low latency systems that enable researchers and analysts to draw deeper insights across the universe of alternative data. From credit card, to clickstream, to point of sale, to geolocation and hundreds of proprietarily collected feeds, your work will be a direct input to the firm’s investment decisions.

YOUR ROLE

• Tool Development: Design, develop, and deploy AI/ML-driven tools and applications to extract unique metadata and create synthetic data for our investment researcher and quants
• Process Improvements: Analyze existing processes and identify areas where AI/ML can be applied to improve accuracy, speed, and efficiency
• Technology Infrastructure: Work with IT and data teams to build and maintain robust technology infrastructure that supports AI/ML initiatives
• Performance Optimization: Continuously evaluate and refine models and algorithms to ensure optimal performance and alignment with business goals
• Collaboration: Partner with portfolio managers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions
• Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest developments in AI/ML technologies and identify innovative approaches to enhance our competitive edge

IF YOU ARE A PERSON WHO GAINED

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related field, preferably within tech company
• 5 years of software development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python (including pandas) and SQL/Database skills.
• Experience with web technologies (HTML/JS, APIs) and networking.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and statistical methods.
• Familiarity and interest in latest LLM technologies and libraries (e.g Llama-index, Langchain, OpenAI API)
• Proficiency in Linux (Windows experience is a plus).

ADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS

• Experience designing infrastructure, data products, and tools for Data Scientists
• Proficiency in containerizing workloads with Docker (Kubernetes experience is a plus)
• Experience with build automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
• Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, Azure, GCP
• Familiarity working with Vector Databases and/or Knowledge Graphs preferred
