We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with expertise in AWS and experience in finance to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing financial applications and data pipelines in a cloud environment.


About the Role

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance financial applications using Python. Implement and optimize cloud-based solutions on AWS, including services like Lambda, S3, RDS, and EC2. Develop and manage APIs and integrations with financial data sources and third-party systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, analysts, and finance professionals, to ensure alignment with business needs. Work on data processing, ETL pipelines, and real-time financial data analysis. Maintain code quality, security, and best practices through CI/CD pipelines and automated testing. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues related to performance, scalability, and reliability.


Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on Python development experience.
  • Strong experience working with AWS services (Lambda, S3, RDS, EC2, etc.).
  • Background in financial applications, trading systems, or financial data processing.
  • Experience with SQL & NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, etc.).
  • Knowledge of API development and RESTful services.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and best software engineering practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with big data technologies (Apache Spark, Kafka, etc.).
  • Knowledge of financial instruments, risk management, or quantitative finance.
  • Understanding of machine learning models used in financial applications.
  • Certifications in AWS (AWS Certified Developer or Solutions Architect) are a plus.
  • Front-End / React experience is a plus.
