About the role:

We are looking for a proactive and results-driven Finance Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a problem-solving mindset, and a passion for continuous improvement, while also ensuring the seamless execution of essential, recurring month-end tasks.

The ability to balance process optimization with the discipline of managing routine financial operations in a fast-paced, high-growth environment is key. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a keen eye for detail, and a proven ability to navigate financial processes and reporting, analysis as well as process optimization. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in managing finance and treasury tasks, driving efficiencies, and ensuring accurate financial insights.

We operate in a fully remote environment, so strong communication skills are essential. We are seeking someone who can take initiative, execute tasks quickly and accurately with limited direction, and collaborate effectively when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports
• Perform account reconciliations as required and in a timely manner
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations as well as HQ guidelines and requirements
• Oversee the maintenance of the general ledger (including oversight of journal entries performed by our external bookkeeper)
• Review finance information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
• Prepare monthly cashflow forecasts and other treasury-related analysis
• Support the preparation of monthly forecasts and annual budgets
• Oversee our accounts payable, accounts receivable and payment processes
• Lead our expense claim process
• Provide guidance and advice to our external bookkeeper
• Support our annual audit (i.e. audit preparation, responding to audit queries)
• Support our responses to queries from HQ and other Samsung entities
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
• Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience (either worked in practice or in start-ups/small businesses)
• Accounting qualification or qualified by experience (QBE)
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• Solid knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures
• Good with numbers and figures as well as analytical acumen
• Proficient in Xero, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Excellent problem-solving skills with limited direction and ability to make decisions/recommendations
• Flexible around working hours in particular to accommodate month-end reporting deadlines
