Back End Developer

Job Title: JavaScript/Node.js Developer

Location: Norway / Trondheim (On-site/Remote/Hybrid)

Contract Duration: 6 months

Overview:

A leading retail company in Norway is seeking a skilled JavaScript/Node.js Developer for a 6-month contract. The successful candidate will join an agile development team to build, enhance, and maintain scalable web applications and services that drive the company's e-commerce and digital operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain server-side applications using Node.js and JavaScript.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, designers, and product managers, to deliver seamless user experiences.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code while following best practices for security and performance.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code and applications to ensure high performance and scalability.
• Contribute to API design and implementation for integrating various services and systems.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other developers.
• Work within an Agile environment, attending daily standups, sprints, and contributing to continuous integration/deployment pipelines.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience (3+ years) as a JavaScript/Node.js developer.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, and asynchronous programming.
• Experience working with RESTful APIs, web services, and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js).
• Experience with version control tools like Git.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in the retail or e-commerce sector.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, including containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Mocha, Chai, or Jest.
