Senior Backend Developer (m/f/d, Hybrid)

Job Description

As a Backend Developer at Shopstory, you will work on our no-code automation platform focused on the marketing and ecommerce space. We take the power of automation that is usually reserved to developers, and make it accessible to everyone using our software.

In this role, you collaborate with peers from the engineering team and work closely with our product manager and CTO to solve challenging technical problems in a wide range of domains. This includes:

• Creating a robust Workflow Execution Engine


• Designing & building scalable API Endpoints


• Integrating numerous third-party APIs with a focus on stability


• and many more!

• You develop moderately sized features and improvements to our product by collaborating closely with our CTO, Robert, Product Management and your team members from the engineering team.


• You craft code that meets our internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices. You also maintain and advocate for these standards through code review.


• You recognize technical debt, argue for its resolution, and implement solutions.


• You advocate and take ownership of improvements in product quality, security, and performance. You also solve technical problems of moderate scope and complexity independently.


• You provide mentorship for Junior and Intermediate Engineers on your team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities.


• You collaborate with stakeholders outside of the Engineering team and communicate technical concepts to them effectively.

You will be a great fit for this role if,

• You have 5+ years of professional experience with elements of our tech stack, which includes NodeJS, TypeScript, DynamoDB, AWS Cloud Infrastructure (CDK, ECS, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, CloudFront, EventBridge), Vitest, Git and Docker.


• You are fluent in English, as our company language is English. Proficiency in German is a plus but not required.


• You are experienced in owning a project from concept to production, including proposal, discussion, and execution.


• You are self-motivated and self-managing, with excellent organizational skills. You have a positive and solution-oriented mindset.

The base salary starts at €63.000 year as part of our collective agreement IT. We offer higher pay depending on experience and qualifications.
