The Role:

As a Nine Mile Software Engineer – Core Java, you will have the opportunity to work at the heart of our trading systems.

Responsibilities of this role will include:

• Deliver focussed improvements to the operational robustness and profitability of the trading platform
• Contribute to mission-critical projects encompassing everything from trading, pricing, positions, and risk, through to analytics and market connectivity
• Work flexibly with a focus on real-time issues as well as long-term projects
• Performance tuning, maximizing throughput, and minimizing latency
• Ongoing consultation with the trading team to understand how technology can best satisfy their needs

What you will bring:

• Core Java focus
• Development in either C++ or C#
• A scripting language, preferably Python
• Experience working in a High-Frequency Trading firm
• Experience working in both Windows and Linux environments
• Understanding of network protocols
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A genuine interest in financial markets
• Strong academic record with a computer science degree
