About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our clients' Market Risk Technology team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You’ll play a key role in building and integrating a complex, high-visibility regulatory reporting system. This greenfield project is halfway complete and requires an experienced engineer to navigate multiple systems, legacy infrastructure, and strict regulatory deadlines.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and optimize Java/Kotlin applications in a highly complex environment.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines, integrating real-time market risk data.
• Implement and consume APIs, message queues, and integration endpoints.
• Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm to deploy and manage applications.
• Navigate complex banking environments, dealing with multiple systems, stakeholders, and procedures.
• Contribute to DevOps practices and automation improvements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for live-time market risk reporting.

What You’ll Bring

• Extensive experience in Java (Spring Boot) and Kotlin.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise applications, authentication, and access control.
• Experience working with SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL).
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
• Familiarity with messaging systems and queues.
• Agile mindset with expertise in tools like Git, Maven, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Exposure to market risk, banking, or regulatory environments (preferred but not essential).
