Your Role

As a Senior Developer in the Group Actuarial, Finance team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the understanding of uncertainties related to the Group’s significant risks. You will support Executive and Senior Business leaders across Australia, New Zealand, and IAG’s Asian Joint Ventures. This position involves assisting the Chief Actuary's office in modelling and advising on the valuation of insurance liabilities and risk-based capital.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships within the Analytical and Actuarial communities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather and comprehend necessary support.
• Offer practical advice backed by technical knowledge and results to aid business decisions.
• Conduct technical analysis and development.
• Efficiently complete processes and projects with minimal guidance, suggesting and implementing improvements where appropriate.
  
  

There are two vacancies for a 24-month fixed-term contract, open to candidates based anywhere in Australia.

About You

The ideal candidate will have

• At least 3 years of practical experience in analyzing complex data, preferably in General Insurance Actuarial roles.
• Proficiency with analytical software such as SAS, Excel, SQL, R, or Python.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical discipline, such as Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Finance, or Engineering.
• Proven experience in stakeholder management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
