Network Engineer

Job Title: Smart Hands Level 1 Technician (Freelance Contract - 1 Year)

Salary: €3,100 gross/month (no additional benefits)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Smart Hands Level 1 Technician for a 1-year freelance contract in Dublin. You will provide on-site IT infrastructure support, specializing in the installation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of fiber optic and network cabling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables (single-mode and multi-mode).
• Install and terminate Cat 6 network cables following proper standards.
• Perform patch panel installation, labeling, and cable management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to copper and fiber optic cables.
• Test and certify network cables using cable testers and visual fault locators.
• Assist with network hardware installations (switches, routers, servers).

Requirements:

• Experience with fiber optic and network cable installation (Cat 6, patch panels, etc.).
• Familiarity with fiber optic color codes, termination standards, and SFP transceivers.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose fiber optic and copper network links.
• Basic networking knowledge (IP addressing, subnets).
• Proficiency in network tools for testing and certification.

Qualifications:

• College degree or equivalent; certifications like CompTIA Network+, Fiber Optics Certification, CCNA, or CCNP are a plus.
• Previous experience in IT, networking, or telecommunications environments.
• Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with remote teams.
