Full Stack Engineer

We are seeking the right person to work alongside the team to help us to continue to build Go Eve to being THE disruptor in the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging industry.   The kind of someone who takes ownership and pride, and wants to truly contribute to the scaling of our business.  As a dynamic and ambitious young company, we thrive on innovation, collaboration and shared passion for making the world a better place. 

Go Eve has developed a technology that offers multiple parking spaces to rapid charging from a single base power source using a daisy chain of simple charging points.  Called DockChain, this patent approved innovation makes fast charging more cost-effective, and has easier equipment installation.  It’s creating a stir in the industry so we’re scaling up to offer DockChain to fleets and destination car parks around the world.     

We are a bunch of people from all over, with a team internationally based.   Our backgrounds include technology, energy, engineering, mobility, customer service, operations, academia, and everything associated with electric cars.  We’re not corporate, so there’s no room for constraint, hierarchy, or egos.   

The role: 

As a Full Stack Developer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our product, supporting the customer experience, and driving our mission forward. 

This role will work with the existing team on our backend and frontend systems, ensuring the development of new software features and the maintenance of the existing functionality. 

You’ll be problem-solving, organized, a detail and delivery-oriented developer. A great communicator and ‘do-er’ you’ll liaise with our product and technical team, external partners, and oversee the remote commissioning of electric vehicle (EV) charging equipment in various customer locations. You code and design to the highest quality standards. At times you will be the face of the company to customers so your care and attention to them must be awesome.

Key responsibilities: 

Develop and maintain fronted and backend web applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Fastify 

Write Python or native code that runs on a small Linux device and communicates with our backend systems. 

Write automated tests, support live testing of the product and occasionally support our customers by identifying and solving their issues. 

Collaborate across the company to define, design, and ship new features. 

Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. 

Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs. 

Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation. 

Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. 

Immerse yourself in the world of EV charging software, staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends. 

Qualifications: 

Proven experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role. 

Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. 

Experience with front-end frameworks, particularly React. 

Proficiency in back-end development using Fastify and Typescript. 

Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services. 

Knowledge of database systems (SQL/NoSQL). 

Understanding of version control systems, such as Git. 

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 

Strong communication and teamwork abilities. 

Not an asshole. 

Other desirable skills and experience: 

CockroachDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL experience (in that order). 

React, Fastify frameworks. 

MQTT, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Services. 

Experience with Charging Station Management Systems and OCPP protocol.
