Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled RWD Programmer/Analyst with strong analytical and programming expertise, particularly in real-world data (RWD) analysis. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both German and English (mandatory) and will have experience working with healthcare data sources such as Claims Data (e.g., MarketScan) and/or Electronic Health Records (EHR).
What you'll do:
- Work with German healthcare real-world data (RWD), including claims data, registry data, and electronic health records (EHR).
- Apply knowledge of ICD-10-GM codes and other German healthcare coding systems to extract meaningful insights from datasets.
- Conduct real-world evidence (RWE) studies using German claims data, designing and analyzing patient cohorts.
- Utilize concepts such as baseline period, index event & index date, follow-up period, incidence rates, and prevalence to structure and interpret datasets.
- Develop efficient and reproducible programming solutions for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support healthcare research, epidemiology, and outcomes studies.
- Write and optimize code in R and SQL for data manipulation and statistical analysis (Python experience is a plus).
- Work with OMOP data models and OHDSI tools if applicable.
What you bring:
- Fluent in German and English (mandatory).
- Based in Germany or Europe.
- Hands-on experience with at least one RWD source (e.g., claims data, EHR, or registry data).
- Strong understanding of German healthcare data structures, including coding systems such as ICD-10-GM.
- Solid grasp of epidemiological and real-world evidence study concepts (e.g., cohort design, incidence/prevalence calculations).
- Passion for programming and working with healthcare data.
- Proficiency in R and SQL (Python is a plus).
- Experience with OMOP data models and OHDSI tools is a bonus.
- A degree in (bio)statistics, (pharmaco-)epidemiology, data science, or a related field (MSc preferred).
