About The Role

The VFLW Physiotherapist will work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary department and the role will span injury diagnosis, management and prevention.

The VFLW Physiotherapist will play an essential role in ensuring the coaching group understand the medical and physical needs of each player and that the senior coach understands each players capacity to undertake or complete each training session and their availability for match selection during the season.

As The VFLW Physiotherapist, You Will Be Responsible For

  • Providing accurate diagnosis and prognosis of player injuries in collaboration with broader club medical staff.
  • Designing and implementing the player physiotherapy treatment program around training and games.
  • Planning and implementing effective injury management and rehabilitation programs in consultation with the Head of Medical Services, Doctor and High Performance teams.
  • Endorsing a ‘Return to Perform’ approach to injury management that considers both the physical and psychological demands of VFLW football.
  • Being involved in the design and implementation of effective, targeted, and individualised injury prevention programs.
  • Providing regular communication and a high level of transparency with key stakeholders including, but not limited to, the Head of Medical Services, Doctor, Head of Strength & Conditioning, Coaching Group, Head of VFLW and other key staff.
  • Ensuring all physiotherapy treatment notes are recorded into the provided software in a timely and professional manner.
  • Being aware of player wellbeing and communicating concerns with appropriate staff.
  • Act as visible role model and deliver on our values in decision making, behaviour and actions.

About You

With a qualification in Physiotherapy and a current AHPRA registration, you’ll have strong practical injury diagnosis and management skills. You’ll have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional and respectful relationships with players and staff. You’ll work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and pride yourself on your communication skills with all stakeholders. With experience designing and implementing rehabilitation programs, you’ll be skilled in developing and implementing effective injury prevention strategies.

You’ll be available to attend VFLW training and matches outside of business hours, including weekends. (Approximately 12 hours per week)

The successful candidate will be required from 18 March 2025 until the end of the 2025 VFLW season.
