This organisation researches and builds predictive analytics for sports, using advanced techniques and technologies.


Act as a data specialist within the Research & Development team focusing on supporting novel sporting analysis while providing general quantitative support to Data Scientists in their specialist area. Use your knowledge and expertise to maintain and improve a robust production system as well as provide input on areas for improvement around predictive modelling.


  • Take an important role in the development and maintenance of production system
  • Analysis of existing algorithms, inputs and expected outputs, establishing expected behaviour for automated testing
  • Perform quantitative analysis on sports data, publishing research and predictive model outputs
  • Presentation of results & findings to peers
  • Documentation & technical writing


Skills & Experience:

The candidate must possess a high level understanding of statistics and the application of statistical techniques and tools, specifically in the field of predictive model development.


  • 2+ years’ commercial experience
  • University studies in a quantitative field such as mathematics / statistics (or engineering) BSc (Hons), MSc+
  • Exposure to programming/scripting languages e.g. Python, bash/shell
  • Experience using quantitative software packages and analytical software, e.g. R, Python
  • Proficient in SQL / understanding of relational database concepts is an advantage
  • Experience managing data processing pipelines, troubleshooting/issue tracking
  • Experience maintaining/developing a production system is a plus
  • Experience with data visualization platforms e.g. Looker Studio, Tableau
  • Ability to analyze and present summary level data effectively
  • Fluency in English and excellent writing skills
