Senior Systems Administrator

JOB SUMMARY

Skilled and experienced System Administrator to manage and maintain our office IT infrastructure, on-premises servers, and cloud-based systems.

Expertise in both Linux and Windows platforms, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of our IT resources.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Administer, monitor, and maintain on-premises and cloud servers running on Linux and Windows in addition to the user endpoints.
Experience with systems that are regulated by Central Bank of Oman.
Perform system installations, configurations, upgrades, and patch management.
Manage Active Directory (Office 365), DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and other Windows-based services as per the Cyber Security Resilience Framework laid out by the Central Bank of Oman.
Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability and redundancy.
Implement security policies, firewalls, and best practices to protect IT assets.
Automate system administration tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.).
Ensure regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for office IT infrastructure.
Manage cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and optimize cloud resources.
Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

REQUIRED SKILLS

Proven experience as a System Administrator managing both Linux and Windows environments.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, etc.) and hypervisors.
Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, etc.).
Proficiency in cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud administration.
Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, etc.).
Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
