Internship in Data Engineering & Analytics (limited 6-9 months, 70-100%, all genders)

Our Data Insights & Analytics Team leads the analytics and digitalization initiatives integral to the Protection Management framework of SWISS. In this internship, you will contribute to enhancing analytics processes and data workflows to support aviation risk management, including safety, security, and compliance.

Starting date: May 01, 2025

Tasks

Support risk-related decision-making at SWISS by applying your data engineering and analytics skills. You will enhance analytics pipelines, implement data workflows, and support the development of our cloud-based analytics and process automation infrastructure.

• Design and implement data pipelines for preparation, deployment, evaluation, and monitoring using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
• Work with diverse data formats, including SQL tables, JSON files, and other noSQL formats.
• Apply programming expertise to streamline and automate processes.
• Improve and optimize cloud analytics processes.
• Contribute to the research and development of safety and risk management concepts using data analytics.

Requirements

• Master’s student or graduate with focus on analytics (computer science, mathematics, data science, etc…)
• Programming experience with proficiency in at least one language (e.g. SQL, Python, R, …)
• Familiarity with cloud environments (e.g. MS Azure) is an advantage
• Strong technical aptitude and enthusiasm for learning new tools and processes.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and adaptable.
• Very good spoken and written English skills
