AI Lead

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for AI initiatives within the enterprise/manufacturing domain.
• Oversee cross-functional AI teams (Data Engineers, Scientists, Application Engineers), ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Develop AI roadmaps, set priorities, and manage resources and budgets.
• Establish best practices for MLOps, data governance, and model lifecycle management.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, drive innovation, and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Communicate with executive leadership regarding AI strategies, ROI, and project updates.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD (preferred) in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience, leading AI/ML teams or large-scale projects.
• Demonstrable success in delivering AI solutions in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of AI architecture, cloud technologies, and software engineering principles.
• Proficiency across the AI stack (data engineering, modeling, application development).
• Ability to evaluate and mentor teams on emerging AI frameworks and tools.

Experience Level

• Proven leadership, strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and excellent communication skills.
• Experience in enterprise transformation projects, especially within manufacturing/industrial settings.
• Formal project management (PMP, Scrum Master) or leadership training.
• Thought leadership (public speaking, publications, patents).
