As part of its expansion plans, Arachas is seeking an experienced Cyber Defence Analyst to join the Cyber Defence team. The position will be in a flexible, fast-paced, collaborative team environment, and involve working with all levels of management and external service providers.

Role Accountabilities and Core Responsibilities:

  • Support the response to day to day / BAU technical security queries from business stakeholders, key suppliers, clients and internal IT teams.
  • Conduct daily security monitoring activities and respond to basic security incidents
  • Manage email security solutions, including spam filtering, advanced phish detection and DLP processes
  • Monitor and maintain Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) and Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platforms, including investigating alerts, updating rules, and ensuring proper configuration
  • Support firewall administration, including rule reviews, log monitoring, and basic troubleshooting
  • Support Head of Cyber Defence in the identification and delivery of cyber security improvements including basic configuration of security tools, across technical infrastructure.
  • Assist in identity and access management operations, including user provisioning and access reviews
  • Understand and proactively keep pace with the dynamic marketplace of security technologies and vendors
  • Maintain breach and attack simulation tooling to validate security controls
  • Participate in vulnerability scanning and assist in remediation tracking
  • Maintain documentation for security tools and processes
  • Support user awareness programs by helping create training materials and tracking completion
  • Act as first-level responder for security alerts and incidents
  • Perform initial triage of security events and escalate as needed
  • Document incident details and maintain incident records
  • Assist in post-incident analysis and reporting
  • Oversee and work effectively with suppliers/vendors where services and/or key control operation may have been outsourced.
  • Support relationships with identified stakeholders as/where appropriate including business areas, IT, Compliance, Legal, Risk, Finance, Financial Crime, Operations and HR.

Experience Requirements:

  • Professional Security Qualification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role or other technical role (Sysadmin, network Engineer, Level 2/3 support)
  • Understanding of risk management principles and frameworks.
  • Excellent analysis and reporting skills Technical knowledge:
  • Security tool administration (EDR/XDR platforms)
  • Log analysis and security monitoring
  • Basic network security concepts
  • Identity and access management
  • Email security systems
  • Vulnerability management
  • Security awareness training platforms
  • Experience in at least one of the following: ITIL, ISO27001, NIST, CIS, DORA
  • Knowledge of Disaster Recovery, Backup and other business continuity technology and processes
  • Microsoft Technologies including Windows Server, MS SQL and M/0365
  • Knowledge of Palo Alto NGFW/XDR, Egress, Knowbe4, CATO, Cymulate, Webtitan, Cloudflare an advantage but not essential as full training provided.

Person Specification:

  • Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies
  • Possesses a can-do attitude and can get things done, rapidly building an understanding of the Arachas organisation and technical environment.
  • Strong relationship builder and capable of credibly managing internal and external executive stakeholders.
