Role: Android Developer (Mid-Level)

Duration: 5 month contract with possible extensions

Must Haves:

• 3+ years experience with Kotlin & Jetpack Compose

• Deep understanding of Android media APIs (ExoPlayer, CameraX)

• Expertise in RecyclerView optimizations for large media feeds

• Experience implementing chunked video uploads to REST APIs

• Proficient with Material 3 theming and dynamic color systems

Plusses:

• Experience with ML Kit for audio analysis

• Knowledge of HLS/DASH streaming protocols

• Contributions to open source media projects

Day-to-Day:

Our client in the Spanish radio station industry is redeveloping their app for discovering and promoting emerging musical talent. The app allows artists to upload performance videos, connecting them with influential radio professionals across the US. As an Android developer fully focused on front-end development, you will be:

• Implementing video recording and upload features using CameraX and WorkManager

• Optimizing video playback and streaming with ExoPlayer

• Developing efficient, paginated video feeds using RecyclerView and Paging 3 library

• Creating responsive layouts for artist and radio professional profiles with Jetpack Compose

• Integrating with RESTful APIs for user authentication and content management

• Implementing Material 3 design components and custom animations

• Optimizing app performance for smooth scrolling and video playback

• Ensuring accessibility compliance for all UI components
