DevOps Engineer

The DevOps role is growing in importance at Trayport as we move towards continuous deployment across our estate, and in the web team we want to make that move as quickly as possible.

Our technology choices are always evolving but here are some of the tools we use today:

• Azure Devops (Pipelines, GIT, Work Item Management)
• Azure - AKS (Kubernetes), Key Vault, Storage Accounts, Static Apps and more
• AWS - EKS (Kubernetes)
• Docker
• Powershell, Bash scripting
• TeamCity, Octopus deploy

If you are not an expert in these specific technologies but are familiar with an equivalent then we’re happy to train you.

Responsibilities

• Work on automation systems that support our development teams, to continuously deliver new features and improve our highly available trading platform
• Decreasing the build times and automated test times
• Owning and handling daily responsibilities for our CI/CD pipelines
• Eliminating the cost of releasing
• Ensuring our use of source control scales to accommodate larger teams
• Owning the products deployment process
• Work with Infosec to help keep our CI/CD platforms secure
• Work with our existing DevOps engineers to keep our CI/CD in line with the best practices and standards set out by our Developer Experience team

The Person

• Super interested in all things technical
• An inquisitive nature, excellent analytical, communication and problem solving skills
• Working DevOps mindset
• Excellent scripting skills with knowledge of scripting best practices
• Deep understanding of CI/CD systems
• Ability to critique a team’s infrastructure and processes, whilst suggesting both strategic and tactical improvements
