Senior Software Engineer

Purpose: This position is responsible to design, develop, and maintain enterprise software applications to enhance business operations, customer experience & growth in public transport, school services, and private taxi operations.

Job Summary: The incumbent goal is to lead the development of enterprise software applications, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure solutions that meet business requirements.

Main Responsibilities & Tasks

• Design, develop, and test scalable, secure & user-centric enterprise software applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
• Adhere to coding standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements for quality, reliability & security
• Lead and mentor junior software engineers, providing guidance on coding best practices, design patterns & problem-solving strategies to enhance skills and expertise
• Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback and recommendations to improve code quality, performance & maintainability
• Foster an innovative and collaborative team culture by encouraging open communication, active listening, knowledge sharing & experimentation with new technologies and approaches
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues promptly, minimizing downtime
• Perform routine maintenance and updates for stability & scalability
• Ensure application security and compliance with industry standards & regulations
• Evaluate emerging technologies for business relevance and potential impact
• Recommend and implement new technologies driving business value & efficiency
• Align technology investments with business objectives through strategic roadmaps and ROI analysis

Minimum Required Qualifications, Certificates & Skills

• At least Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
• Minimum 7-8 years in software development, with 3+ years in leadership or senior roles
• Skills: Java/Python programming languages, Cloud Computing (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud), Agile Development Methodologies
• Any relevant certification or training such as:

-Certified Scrum Master (CSM), AWS Certified Developer, Java Certification (OCPJP), Agile Development Methodologies
