Senior Director, Technology Procurement

The Group Procurement division provides procurement services to the Singtel, Optus and NCS companies with purchasing requirements more than $7.5B per annum across two key geographic locations. Providing governance, planning, sourcing, contracting, operations, and procurement advisory services for both Optus and Singtel. The business is focussed on customer value, customer experience and digitising our customer service offerings.

The Senior Director, Technology Procurement is responsible and accountable for developing, leading and implementing the category and sourcing strategy for the Technology categories of spend at Optus and co-ordinates with other procurement leaders on their planning and strategies for alignment and commonality. This senior leader works closely IT and Networks leaders, requiring knowledge and experience of Technology supplier, outsourcing relationships, and experience in the delivery of category planning and sourcing strategies.

The opportunity is a six month fixed term role and will report into the Head of Procurement and will have responsibility into the Optus CIO and CTO sitting as part of the Senior Leadership Team for Optus Procurement and CIO and CTO offices.

Your day in the life as our Senior Director at Optus

• Partnering with internal and external business stakeholders to improve value delivery by keeping governance and compliance in check within Procurement department.
• Ensuring that line managers take ownership for change, while making sure results are delivered quickly and with ambition.
• Work with Procurement and business to establish and carry out procedures to ensure accurate procurement standards, processes, and controls for Optus Networks and Group IT as it relates to management of strategic technology vendors.
• Develop and implement new contracting practises for Optus, sourcing new models from external, and utilising industry standards to improve contracting outcomes for the organisation.

Your Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in Senior Procurement roles in matrix organisations with proven specialist experience in contracting, commercial negotiation, and supply chain management.
• Experience in all aspects of Technology category management and relevant platforms that support this function end to end.
• You have owned an IT or Networks based Procurement function enabling you to showcase your leadership skills and develop your team whilst granting you exposure to C-Suite level leaders and delivering to them.
• You have developed strategies and delivered large scale outsourced programs within complex and sophisticated matrix organisations.
